Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health

In India, 2 million adolescent women are in need of contemporary contraception. The required minimum of four prenatal care visits is completed by 52 per cent of teenagers who give birth. 78 percent of adolescent abortions are unsafe, putting them at a higher risk of complications. 190,000 adolescents do not receive the treatment they require and follow unsafe abortion methods. The proportion of women in India of reproductive age who have an unmet demand for modern procedures is substantially higher for teenagers (71%) than for all women of reproductive age (27 per cent).

We at SEPP World Foundation understand this great crisis and have come together to develop a proper plan for adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
