Why Does It Matter
According to the latest report from the national Sample Registration System (SRS), India's Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) for the period 2016-18 was 113/100,000 live births. In India, about 3.5 million babies are born prematurely, 1.7 million have birth abnormalities, and one million newborns are discharged from Special New-born Care Units each year (SNCUs). These babies are still at significant risk of dying, stunting, and developmental delays.
Hence we at SEPP World Foundation have come together to build a proper roadmap for the maternal and infant health care system which aims at reducing infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate thereby giving the mother and child complete care for the mother and child.
