Rehabilitation of Sole Survivors
In the last 14 months, children have been the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic has claimed the lives of almost 1.2 lakh youngsters in India. Over 15 lakh children are believed to have lost at least one parent, a custodial or co-residing grandparent, or another older member around the world.
A Lancet study indicated that 11,34,000 children lost a primary caregiver between March 1, 2020, and April 30, 2021, out of the 15 lakhs.
According to the study, Covid-19 killed 25,500 children in India, while 90,751 lost their father and 12 lost both parents.
